Background
The client’s site was once quite famous in the region in operated. It had a robust daily view count, high social media presence and overall a successful project.
But in early 2010 after a security breach, the site was more or less in shambles. The content was lost and the presence was disrupted. Moreover, the owner traumatized lost interest in this project.
But in 2020 they are hoping for a relaunch. But they realize that the time is moved on and the tech news industry is not the same anymore.
Suggestions
Here are my suggestions for the relaunch of the technology news site and the associated forum -
- Start by following a tonne of influencers. Tech news is the industry dominated by tech influencers.
- Show your presence in influencer accounts (like, comment, share, tweet, retweet) etc.
- Create branded youtube account and be regular in commenting tech youtube channels. Try to comment early, try to get inside information for empathic and humorous comments that the fans and subscribers of the channel will connect best.
- Paid advertisement might work here as the non-developed country regional demographic is a better audience for the advertisement.
- Try to make the relaunch feel like a GRAND AFFAIR 🎉🎉
- Prior to announcing a comeback, stock up on at least two months of content so the new visitors have something to read at least and ‘not bounce’.
- In news and forum business, your social media isn’t supposed to be about ‘YOU’ rather than it is supposed to be about ‘YOUR CONTENT’
- Provide summary or brief ideas about what the content/article is about on the social media post and on the beginning of the content
- Put in cliffhangers in your posts so they click on the link
- In content bullet points is king
- Sub 20 seconds videos or slideshow to promote high-value content
- You can create rewind the week slideshows to highlight the top news of the week
